Bump it with Joomla!

Written by Sudhi | 23 May 2009

Youbumpit Extensions

We've talked about to "bump" type services like Digg and Joomocracy a few times. If you're not familiar with these you first need to move out of your cave, then read this article. These services are community-powered information portals. People submit sites or news, and if they appeal to people, they get "bumped" up the list. The cooler your content, the more bumps, the more traffic; pretty simple.

Did you know Joomocracy isn't powered by Joomla? It's powered by a CMS called "Pligg" which is designed specifically for the purpose of creating "bump" services like Digg. Our guess is Joomocracy chose this option because there wasn't a way to turn Joomla into a bump site... until recently.

YouJoomla.com has released an extension called YouBumpit for both Joomla! 1.0 and 1.5. Check it out here or you can demo it here.
